There are many reasons fall is the favourite season of so many Canadians.
One of the most noticeable reasons is the changing colours of the leaves. The red, orange and yellow creates scenery that can feel rather warm and nostalgic. There’s also the beauty of watching the leaves fall on a windy day that can feel quite magical.
Fall also brings with it festivities that people look forward to the most. Whether it’s decorating or watching scary movies during the lead up to Halloween, or perhaps it’s that Thanksgiving meal you’ve waited all year for, it's a season that tends to bring people together.
There’s also the cozy atmosphere and comfortable weather as well. After the hot days of summer, the cooler temperatures can be rather invigorating and refreshing. It is the ideal weather that triggers a sense of comfort like wrapping up in a warm blanket by a window and reading a good book.
Fall invokes a sense of transition as it symbolizes change and renewal. It’s a time in the year when Mother Nature reminds us that change can be beautiful. People often reflect more, slow down, or feel more inspired creatively.
Fall is also the time of the harvest when people get to enjoy the produce they have been growing in their gardens during the spring and summer. It’s a time when many people spend more time in the kitchen either canning goods or baking varieties of bread or desserts that can be enjoyed over the winter.
